From the Founders:

The average customer to the Nurturing Nook will have the opportunity to come in, relax, and look around a store that looks similar to a large living room full of cozy chairs, colorful books, and treasures in every Nook and cranny.  The store is lit by the artisan-made lamps on end-tables, candles flickering all over, and a couple crystal chandeliers.  The floor is speckled with exotic rugs and massaging foot warmers.  The reclining chairs have optional massagers; there will be a soft blanket on the chair arm, and the scent of freshly brewed tea in the air.  There are sounds of the fountains, wind chimes, and people chattering at the make-it-yourself jewelry counter.

As the customer browses, they notice all of the beautiful artwork, décor, jewelry, candles, and spa products are crafted by local and regional artisans and crafters.  Every thing in the store is for sale!  From the crystals shining in the front windows, to the live plants basking in the sun, to the neck massagers quietly humming, to the candle holder holding the Scent of the Month candle display, all the way down to the tables, lamps and rugs, you can buy it here.

The Nurturing Nook is a new concept in retail bookstores.  Our customers can come in, relax, rejuvenate and be able to take that good feeling home with them.  Our goal is to provide a shopping experience that doesn’t feel like one.  Our staff is committed to providing our patrons with the latest and most varied source of fiction and non-fiction books not always found in the big chain bookstores.  The whole feel of the store is to provide an escape from the day-to-day stresses of life and to feel great about treating yourself to 15 to 30 minutes of a treasure hunt of information and tools with the healing of the mind, body and spirit as the overall flavor.

The Nurturing Nook provides the Forsyth community with a place where people can purchase goods and services from local and regional artisans and experts.  We promote local authors with book signings and honor artisans with a place to showcase their talents.  The Nurturing Nook offers its space for book clubs, jewelry classes after hours, and also will have a space for individual meditation or quiet time during the day.  Our store has a tea buffet with a variety of teas and small packaged snacks.

The Nurturing Nook also contains live plants, crystals, candles, wind chimes, music, fountains, and also an adult-themed area.  This specialized small space has erotic fiction, kama sutra and other forms of tantric expression reference books, along with a sophisticated line of tools and implements that allow the discerning adult the chance to improve ALL areas of theirs lives.  From the board room, to the living room to the bedroom, The Nurturing Nook gives our customers a selection of high quality books, products and support to make their journey through life a more enjoyable and peaceful experience.

While The Nurturing Nook overall has wellness and healing as its focus, we are also aware of the power of laughter and positive thinking. Our items range from spiritual-based to career-oriented and entertaining books and gifts.  We offer a supremely customer service oriented environment, away from cell phones, traffic, and electronic devices.  There will be no “hot-spot” or “wi-fi” capability, it is a store where the community can interact with each other, or you can enjoy quiet meditation time, or explore what the future might hold with a tarot card reading.

Overall, we know customers want to be pampered and cared for during their shopping experience.  The Nurturing Nook is poised and ready to be able to give people what they want and adjust to their needs as time progresses.

Namaste,
Leanne Temple
